With both parents holding PhDs in Chemistry and serving in government roles, education was a cornerstone of her upbringing. From an early age of 8-year-old, she exhibited a strong inclination towards music. By the age of 13 she was earning degrees in Indian Classical Singing from Pracheen Kala Kendra and by the age of 15 she got the four year degree for Plectrum Guitar from Trinity University, London.
While music remained a cherished passion, her career took an unexpected turn at the age of 16 when she was introduced to cybersecurity. An article in 2015 detailing the country’s urgent need for cybersecurity professionals caught her attention, sparking a new-found interest in the field. Realizing the potential impact she could make, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science Engineering with a specialization in IT Security & Cyber Forensics from UPES, Dehradun.
Later on, she pursued her M.Tech: Masters of Technology in Computing Systems and Infrastructure from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (BITS,Pilani).
Her academic foundation opened doors to significant opportunities. From stepping into corporate roles to leading security initiatives, she quickly distinguished herself in the field. Recognitions such as BW Security World’s 40 Under 40 and Global Women Achievers cemented her position as a formidable force in cybersecurity. These interactions exposed her to real-world cybersecurity challenges and guided her toward mobile security, where she began exploring Android application vulnerabilities.
To deepen her expertise, Uplabdhi completed a nanodegree in Android application development from Google. Her proficiency in developing applications across diverse domains, including entertainment, railways, tourism, and lifestyle, laid the groundwork for her specialization in Application Security. By 2017-18, she had accumulated hands-on experience in Ethical Hacking, Web Application Security, and Network Security.
Her major corporate breakthrough came in 2018 when she secured a role as Assistant Manager in Application Security at Jio. Competing for one of the four available positions, she stood out due to her technical acumen and confidence.
