Background-

Astoriom, a global leader in scientific research and consumer product sample stability and biorepository storage, has acquired Roylance Stability Storage Limited and Roylance Scientific Limited, the UK operations of life sciences stability storage provider Sampled, based in Glasgow.

The deal strengthens Astoriom’s specialist storage and sample management capabilities, extending its coverage, technical expertise and operational resilience to help safeguard samples, materials and equipment critical to scientific research and product innovation.

Astoriom, which brings more than 30 years of experience in outsourced sample storage and technical support, will now serve customers from Sampled’s Glasgow facility with secure, compliant and quality-led storage environments backed by continuous monitoring, inventory controls and business continuity systems at its flagship UK site in Rochdale.

Backed by UK mid-market private equity firm Limerston Capital, Astoriom has grown significantly over the past two years through an international acquisition strategy, expanding into high-growth regions to support stability storage, biorepository, technical validation and disaster recovery services globally.

Recent additions include MTS Cryo Stores, Cool Repair Scientific UK, Flagship Biosciences and Precision Stability Storage, alongside a cryo suite launch and expansion at its Tramore site in Ireland.

Will Edwards, CEO of Astoriom, said the company’s continued growth reflects sustained demand for its integrated services, adding that the acquisition reinforces its commitment to delivering high-quality sample storage across the UK and beyond while maintaining continuity for Sampled’s existing customers.

Zach Taylor, Investment Director at Limerston Capital, called the deal a strong continuation of Astoriom’s buy-and-build strategy, while John DelliSanti, CEO and Chair of Sampled, said the move positions both organizations for continued success as Sampled sharpens its focus on biobanking and clinical sample management from its New Jersey headquarters.
