Background-
Perkbox has appointed Shahid Naveed as chief product and technology officer. He joins the employee benefits platform from Freetrade.
Naveed will sit on the executive leadership team and lead a technology division of about 70 people across product, engineering, IT, cyber security, data, analytics and insight.
He will work to improve how employees find and use workplace benefits on the Perkbox platform. He will also help employers measure the return on their benefits spending.
A key task will be exploring how artificial intelligence can strengthen the platform’s tools for HR and reward teams, including spotting underused benefits and suggesting steps to lift staff engagement.
Naveed brings more than two decades of experience across fintech, marketplaces, software and large technology groups. At Freetrade, he led product, engineering, data, information security and workplace technology, and he helped steer the business through its acquisition by IG Group. Earlier, he supported Auction Technology Group through its IPO and led global engineering teams at Amazon.
Doug Butler, chief executive officer at Perkbox, said Naveed’s experience and stature make him the right person to guide the company’s product and technology strategy into its next phase.
Naveed said he joined for the culture, the team and the strength of an established business. He said AI can help HR teams act on data with minimal effort, such as finding employees who underuse a benefit and recommending outreach.
Perkbox serves more than 7,500 organizations and nearly 4 million employees worldwide, including more than 80 percent of the NHS.
