Business leaders spend years learning how to grow companies. Far fewer stop to ask what that growth is meant to leave behind. In a time of fast-moving markets and constant pressure, that question is becoming harder to ignore.

Across industries, the conversation around leadership is changing. Founders are being looked at not only for the size of their ventures, but also for the people they develop and the knowledge they pass on. Mentorship, shared knowledge and lasting influence now carry a value that goes beyond revenue and business growth. For many leaders, the real measure of experience lies in what they are able to give to others.

Sangeet Hemant Kumar has spent more than three decades building businesses across real estate, media, branding, events, and investment. As Founder & Mentor of The House of SHK, he has witnessed changing markets, evolving business models, and shifting opportunities. Through it all, he has continued to hold on to a few principles that have remained constant: integrity, relationships, learning, resilience and the ability to adapt.

His journey, however, has taken a more personal turn in recent years. A serious health challenge led him to rethink what deserves his time and where he wants his experience to create value. That reflection has shifted his focus from building businesses alone to building people, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities for others. Today, through The House of SHK, he is shaping a mentoring-led platform for founders, entrepreneurs and young talent, while developing a philosophy centered on purpose, resilience, and living with intention.

Let’s explore how Sangeet’s journey has shaped his approach to leadership, mentorship, purpose, and the legacy he hopes to build through others!

Lessons That Outlast Change

Thirty-five years in business have taught Sangeet something that no business school can: everything changes, but certain principles never do.

Markets change. Technologies change. Business models change. People change. But integrity, relationships, learning, resilience, and the ability to adapt remain timeless.

Early in his journey, he was involved in real estate, media, branding, and events simultaneously. A conversation with the late Yash Chopra made him reflect deeply on the importance of focus, particularly the importance of mastering a core direction rather than constantly shifting priorities.

That lesson became part of a broader understanding of leadership. For him, leadership is not about having the loudest voice in the room. It is about creating an environment where other people can find their voice. Over time, this has made mentoring, knowledge sharing, collaboration, and ownership increasingly important parts of his approach.

He also sees resilience differently. It is not about never falling. It is about finding the strength to stand up, learn, and move forward every time life tests you.

These lessons have moved beyond business strategy. They have become part of the way he looks at life itself.

When Priorities Change

Cancer changed Sangeet’s perspective profoundly. Diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer in July 2025 and later learning of a recurrence in July 2026 while undergoing chemotherapy, he was forced to pause and look at life from a different perspective.

Before cancer, his mind was constantly occupied with the next quarter, the next venture, the next meeting, and the next milestone. The experience made him ask a much more fundamental question: What truly deserves my energy?

That question changed the way he looked at success. Wealth, businesses, awards, and professional recognition have meaning, but they are not the complete measure of a life. What matters to him now is what he creates, whom he helps, what knowledge he shares, and what difference he can make to the people around him.

Most importantly, he has learned to live more consciously. Purpose should not be postponed until some future point. It should be part of the way a person lives and works today.

This perspective also shaped Decide Not To Die, a philosophy around life, resilience, longevity, motivation, and choosing to keep moving forward.

From Building Companies to Building People

The shift from professional achievement to purpose was not one dramatic moment. It was a gradual realization accelerated by everything Sangeet has experienced over the last year.

For decades, his identity was closely connected to building businesses, creating opportunities, and achieving professional milestones. But the experience of cancer made him look beyond achievement and ask a more fundamental question: What is the real value of everything he has learned if he does not share it?

The answer was people.

The people he has mentored. The knowledge he has accumulated. The confidence he has given someone. The opportunities he has helped create.

This led to one of the most important changes in his approach: moving from building companies to building people.

“I no longer want to build only companies. I want to build people.”

For him, that idea now sits at the heart of The House of SHK. It has to be more than another business chapter. It has to become a platform where knowledge, relationships, capital, technology, and opportunity come together.

Choosing Life Over Passivity

The central message of Decide Not To Die is simple: don’t postpone living.

The philosophy is not about romanticizing illness or pretending that everything that happens can be controlled. Instead, it focuses on the things people can control: their attitude, courage, relationships, learning, contribution, and willingness to keep creating meaning when circumstances become difficult.

At its core, Sangeet wants readers to ask themselves whether they are really living or simply existing.

For him, “Deciding not to die is not merely about fighting an illness. It is about choosing life over fear, purpose over passivity, and contribution over complacency.”

The book is also being developed as the foundation of a wider SHK knowledge ecosystem covering wealth management, financial growth, financial independence, luxury living, longevity, corporate resilience, intrinsic motivation, and artificial intelligence.

In this context, the philosophy extends beyond one book. It becomes part of a wider approach to how Sangeet wants to live, create, and contribute.

Creating With Purpose

Creating has always been part of who Sangeet is. Entrepreneurship has never felt like a job to him. It is how he thinks. He sees problems and immediately starts thinking about possibilities.

Even during treatment, ideas continue to come. But the motivation behind creating has evolved.

Earlier, he wanted to build because he wanted to achieve. Today, he wants to build because he wants his experience, knowledge, and ideas to create value for other people.

That is a very different motivation.

The transition from SHK Global Ventures to The House of SHK reflects this evolution, bringing entrepreneurship, investment, branding, technology, strategic growth, and wealth creation into a connected ecosystem.

As long as he is living, learning, and capable of contributing, he wants to create. The duration is not the point. The quality and purpose of what he does is.

This shift also explains why mentorship has become such an important part of his work.

The Return on Experience

Earlier, Sangeet measured success largely through businesses, revenue, growth, transactions, ventures, and milestones. Today, he increasingly measures it through people.

If someone who worked with him becomes a better entrepreneur, a better leader, or simply a more confident human being, that is success.

He wants to share the mistakes he made so others do not have to repeat all of them. He wants to share relationships, knowledge, and opportunities rather than hold them tightly as personal assets.

As he puts it, “The greatest return on experience is what happens when you transfer it to someone else.”

That belief is central to The House of SHK, which places strong emphasis on founders, entrepreneurs, startups, and young talent.

For him, knowledge has very little value if it dies with the person who accumulated it. Its greater value comes through what happens when it is transferred to someone else and becomes part of another person’s journey.

Building a Legacy That Compounds

This philosophy extends into Sangeet’s vision of a “Mentee-Led Legacy Organisation.” For him, this means that an organisation should eventually become bigger than its founder.

He does not want The House of SHK to depend forever on him. He wants the people he mentors to eventually become mentors themselves.

The idea is simple but powerful. A young entrepreneur learns something from him, builds something meaningful, and then helps another ten people. Those ten people help another hundred. In this way, legacy compounds.

His ambition is therefore not simply to create successors. It is to create multipliers.

If one day someone says, “I learnt something from someone who learnt from Sangeet,” that would mean more to him than having his name on a building or a company.

That is the kind of legacy he wants: a living chain of knowledge, opportunity, and mentorship.

Converging People, Capital, and Technology

The House of SHK is also evolving in line with this larger vision. The organisation is transitioning from a consulting advisory firm into a venture studio and an AI-driven, multi-industry ecosystem.

Rather than forcing leaders and entrepreneurs to navigate disconnected networks for capital, strategy, branding, and technology, The House of SHK is designed to become an integrated hub.

Through initiatives including LuxeVia.ai, The LuxeVia Billionaire Card, The LuxeVia CIRCLE, FracMNY, and THE CONVERGENCE, the vision brings together luxury experiences, asset creation, entrepreneurship, technology, and strategic collaboration under one platform.

The fundamental idea is clear: connect the right people, knowledge, capital, and technology, and create value together.

Ultimately, Sangeet’s mission is to eliminate friction by converging the right people, capital, and technology to build lasting value.

The People Behind the Journey

Cancer also changed the way Sangeet looks at relationships.

Family, friends, doctors, nurses, colleagues, mentors, and team members have all played a role in his journey. Some call. Some sit quietly beside him. Others send a message simply because they want him to know they are there.

Their presence becomes extraordinary during difficult times. The experience has also changed how he views professional networks. In business, relationships can often be discussed as though they are assets. But, as Sangeet has come to recognize, relationships are human beings.

When life becomes difficult, their value is not what they can do for business. It is simply that someone is there.

That has made him more grateful, more vulnerable, and, in his words, hopefully more human. It has also reinforced his belief that “Whatever is built should ultimately be built around people, not just organisations.”

A Future Defined by Purpose

The next chapter of Sangeet’s life is not about measuring how much time remains. It is about measuring how fully that time is lived.

He still wants to build. He still wants to innovate. He still wants to create businesses, ideas, and institutions that matter. But he wants every professional ambition to carry a larger human purpose.

He wants The House of SHK to become an institution where knowledge is shared, entrepreneurs are mentored, investors become more informed, relationships create opportunities, and young talent gets the chance to grow.

He also wants Decide Not To Die to become more than a book. He wants it to become a philosophy around choosing life, purpose, resilience, and contribution, while serving as the foundation of a wider SHK legacy and knowledge ecosystem.

Personally, he wants to give back what the last 35 years have given him.

How long does not matter to him anymore. What matters is that as long as he lives, he lives with purpose. As long as he can create, he creates. As long as he can mentor, he mentors. As long as he can contribute, he contributes.

And that brings his philosophy back to its simplest expression. “Not simply fighting death, but choosing life, every single day.”

For Sangeet Hemant Kumar, the next chapter is therefore not simply another stage of entrepreneurship. It is an opportunity to turn experience into knowledge, knowledge into opportunity, and opportunity into a legacy that continues through other people. It is about building with purpose, mentoring with generosity, and ensuring that whatever comes next carries meaning beyond achievement.
