As the APAC Head of Legal & Compliance at FUJIFILM Asia Pacific, Yeo is reshaping what it means to lead in the legal realm, not just through acumen, but with authenticity and purpose.
His journey began in the Singapore Police Force, where he internalized the gravity of ethical decision-making and the value of principled discipline. “That experience shaped my fundamental understanding of governance, accountability, and ethical decision-making,” Yeo reflects. This grounding prepared him for a pivotal transition into the legal and compliance field—a calling rather than a career change.
Over the decades, Yeo has evolved into a cross-industry legal strategist, navigating the intricacies of real estate, oil & gas, fintech, healthcare, and semiconductors. His roles have spanned from building legal teams from scratch to advising boards across the APAC region, all while remaining deeply anchored in human-centered leadership.
“I don’t just review contracts or mitigate risk. I aspire to help shape strategy, resolve conflicts, and facilitate responsible innovations,” Yeo explains. His approach centers around integrating legal insight with business growth, while empowering people—not just processes.
A committed lifelong learner, Yeo has pursued his LLB, LLM, and an MBA, furthering his education with executive programs at Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School. These experiences gave him a global perspective and sharpened his interdisciplinary thinking—qualities essential in a modern legal landscape.
His contributions have earned him international recognition, including an Honorary Doctorate in Advanced Studies in International Law from Universidad Azteca in 2025. He is also a co-author of Power Springboard alongside global leadership voices like Brian Tracy and Les Brown, further exemplifying his capacity to translate legal complexities into accessible, ethical solutions.
Yet, Yeo’s proudest achievement isn’t listed on a CV. It’s personal. Honoring his late mother’s final wish, he was able to reconcile with his estranged father—an act of healing and grace that encapsulates his deeper philosophy of forgiveness, reconciliation, and purpose-driven leadership.
“Leadership is not about a title; it’s about impact. Cultivate discipline, humility, and the courage to confront both external and internal challenges,” he advises. Through his concept of “strategic solitude,” Yeo regularly reconnects with his values and Christian faith, drawing clarity from stillness in a fast-paced world.
As he continues his leadership journey across Asia-Pacific, Shi Yuan Yeo remains not just a legal advisor, but a strategic partner, mentor, and legacy-builder. His mantra says it all:
“Live anchored in truth, lead with courage, and uplift others with every step you take.”
