There are leaders who operate on the existing paths and those who blaze their own trail and create a new definition of what is feasible. This spirit defines the journey of Ashutosh Kharangate, a leader who turns challenges into opportunities for growth. As a Chartered Accountant with a record of distinction from the very beginning, he realized early in his career the growing need for structured research, financial clarity, and informed strategic decision-making in the business environment. Driven by this insight, he conceived an advisory ecosystem designed to bring discipline, accuracy, and a growth-oriented approach to companies of all kinds.

He is not only the leader of MARC but also a significant contributor to the MSME ecosystem and a mentor to entrepreneurs, students, and professionals, impacting countless individuals with his ideas. As the Chairman of the MSME Empowerment, Knowledge Exchange & Development Cell at the Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI), he continues to shape and uplift the sector. Despite his long list of accolades  including his recent ET NOW Business Excellence Award

The Idea That Empowered a Million Possibilities

Ashutosh’s decision came from observing a common challenge faced by small and medium businesses. Many had the potential to grow but lacked access to the right data, structure, and guidance. “While working with such enterprises, I realized that numbers alone couldn’t solve their problems,” he shares.

Where Data Falls Short, Strategy Takes Over

When asked about the biggest challenges his industry faces and how he works to overcome them, Ashutosh highlights three core issues. The first challenge is navigating complex markets with fragmented data and inaccessible decision makers, where traditional research methods fail across specialty chemicals and industrial manufacturing. To address this, Ashutosh explains that MARC combines multiple research approaches: industry expert interviews, on-ground visits, financial analysis, and competitor mapping. This multi-source method ensures clients receive reliable insights even in niche markets.”

The second challenge involves high-risk, capital-intensive projects shaped by regulations, fluctuating costs, and uncertain demand; Ashutosh addresses this through macro-level opportunity screening followed by detailed regulatory, cost, and competitive evaluation.

The third challenge involves global supply chain uncertainty driven by shifting trade patterns, regulatory changes, and economic volatility; Ashutosh addresses this through market and competitor analysis, PESTEL assessment, and financial benchmarking to test long-term viability.

In essence, he recalls, “We turn complex, uncertain markets into clear, risk-aware investment decisions.

Transformation and Growth

What keeps Ashutosh going are the stories of transformation he and his team witness. When a struggling business turns things around, creates new jobs, or finds renewed purpose, it reminds him why this work matters. He highlights, “Each success story, no matter how small, shows that meaningful impact is possible when data meets human understanding.” That belief keeps him motivated, even during challenging times.

Conviction Through Clarity

Ashutosh’s approach to risk is both strategic and systematic. Before launching any new initiative, he prioritizes deep research, market analysis, and comprehensive scenario planning. This disciplined process ensures his team understands the potential impact, whether they are entering a niche market or tackling a novel challenge. MARC treat every project as a learning opportunity, meticulously refining their approach to cover all aspects of the deliverable. Once the data confirms a clear direction, they commit full conviction. He states,

“I believe calculated risks are not a sign of uncertainty, but a fundamental driver of growth.”

Relevance Through Reinvention

For Ashutosh, innovation means redefining how his team helps organizations achieve transformation. It is the ability to adapt methodologies to evolving client needs and shifting market dynamics. Beyond frameworks and tools, it reflects a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Ashutosh’s Journey of Purpose and Compassion

Ashutosh’s professional journey has been influenced deeply by personal experiences. Working in corporate consulting taught him discipline and precision, but losing his mother gave him a sense of purpose. He founded MARC in her memory to build something that helps others achieve stability and growth. That experience taught him empathy and resilience; two qualities he relies on every day. He tries to lead by listening first, understanding people’s motivations, and balancing logic with compassion in every decision.

Decisions That Change Destinies

Among the many experiences in his journey, one stands out clearly for Ashutosh. He worked with a client in the aviation sector to evaluate new air routes, and his analysis helped them make data-driven decisions that improved regional connectivity and profitability. In another instance, he supported a company in restructuring its operations, which saved jobs and restored long-term sustainability. “These moments remind me that consulting is not just about advice; it is about impact,” he mentions.

Integrity as the Foundation

Ashutosh tries to focus on purpose rather than pressure. Short-term challenges are part of every business journey, but the vision must remain steady. His goal has always been to build a consulting firm that combines integrity with innovation. He continues to strengthen internal systems, nurture leadership, and expand globally through MARC Glocal Inc. Every challenge he faces today contributes to the strength he needs for tomorrow.

The Leadership Lesson Ashutosh Believes In

When asked what advice he would give to young leaders who want to make a real difference in the world, Ashutosh shares, “creating something new is not easy, but it is the only way to make a real difference.” It takes courage, patience, and the ability to stay committed even when the path is not clear. But it is also the only way to make a real difference.
